The previous Joint Opinion also commented on the method by which supporters’ signatures were inspected, and recommended that Article 42 be improved.[15] In spite of the amendments made vis-à-vis the concerned provisions, it is recommended that the signature verification process included in Article 42 be amended to address the concerns noted in the previous Joint Opinion.
