This last part simplified a previous rule (as amended on 22 November 2007) which provided that, for the purpose of the candidate using the fund, “the relevant election commission shall submit written consent to the election subject”. This is a useful simplification; this amended provision is in alignment with the earlier joint opinions of the Venice Commission and the OSCE/ODIHR.[31]
