Paragraph 130

As it is recommended in the OSCE/ODIHR Final report on the 21 May 2008 parliamentary elections in Georgia, the Georgian Parliament could, rather than adopting further amendments to the current Election Code, constructively enact a new Election Code in the near term, and at least one year ahead of the next nationwide election, taking into account past and the present recommendations made by the OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission. This would be best accomplished according to an open and transparent process of consultation with key stakeholders that aims to reach a broad consensus.
