The principles for formation of election commissions are set out in Article 34 of the Code, which provides that election commissions shall be comprised of citizens with professional training. Article 35 sets out the formula for the selection of members of the CEC which shall be made up of one member from each faction in the National Assembly, one member appointed by the President of Armenia and two members appointed by the Council of Chairmen of the Republic of Armenia Courts from among the judicial servants.
