A decision through which someone has been appointed as a member of a county council or municipal assembly or as a substitute also applies even if the decision has been appealed against. If someone else has been appointed as a member or substitute as a result of the appeal, the decision applies as soon as the election or the count is concluded by which the member or substitute was appointed.

Members of the European Parliament shall take up their assignment when they have been appointed and their eligibility considered by the European Parliament.

The provisions on suspension contained in Section 29 of the Administrative Procedure Act (1986:223) do not apply to decisions referred to in this section.
