The elections of MEPs from the Republic of Slovenia (hereinafter: "the elections") shall be called by the President of the Republic. As the day of elections, a Sunday or any other holyday shall be stipulated in the period determined by the competent body of the European Union.

The Calling of Elections Instrument shall be published in Uradni list Republike Slovenije (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia).

The elections shall be called no sooner than 135 days and no later than 75 days prior to the day of elections. At least sixty days must elapse since the day of calling the elections and the day of elections.

On the day which is in the Calling of Elections Instrument stipulated as the day of calling the elections, the deadlines for election procedures shall commence.
