- In the first elections to the European Parliament organised in Romania, for the purposes of exercising the right to vote and of standing as candidates from Romania to the European Parliament, the citizens of the Member States of the European Union are obliged to 50 submit a formal declaration that they have not exercised their right to vote, and the right to be elected to the European Parliament in the elections organised in 2004.
