These developments demonstrate a constructive attitude both on the part of the government and on the part of the opposition, which the Venice Commission and OSCE/ODIHR welcome and encourage. A genuine spirit of co-operation between the political forces in the country is a positive development for the holding of democratic elections and this process of adopting amendments to the Electoral Code is an encouraging step in this regard. The collaborative attitude demonstrated until now by the governing and opposition parties should also prevail as regards the implementation of the Electoral Code and in the future appointment of members to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), which will take place in autumn 2016.
