The first Joint Opinion recommended extending the timeframe for the OAS audits. Article 29.5 of the final Electoral Code provides for seven days instead of two to complete the OAS inspection of declarations (but this should take place no later than one day before the summarisation of election results) and requires the immediate publication of OAS conclusions on the CEC website. Although the timeframe has been extended considerably, it may still be difficult to carry out a meaningful audit within this period. This recommendation has therefore been partially met.
