To the authority provided by existing election laws, the Draft Law would add a number of additional responsibilities related to permanent electoral administration. With respect to specific elections, however, the authority of the SEC would continue to derive mainly from the laws related to the different kinds of elections, particularly the Parliamentary Election Law.
