Article 26

The presidential returning officer shall object to the description of a person purported to be nominated as a candidate in a nomination paper which is, in his opinion, incorrect, insufficient to identify the person or unnecessarily long and where the presidential returning officer so objects, he shall allow the person or the authorised representative of the person, as may be appropriate, to amend the description and, if it is not so amended to his satisfaction, the presidential returning officer may amend or delete it, as he thinks fit, after consultation with the person or the authorised representative of the person if either is present, or may rule that the nomination paper is invalid on the ground that it has not been properly made out.
