Paragraph 51

In the interest of secrecy, it should be forbidden to a voter to mark his ballot in any way other than as necessary to express his elective will (in order that the ballot is not identifiable after opening). Ballots found to be marked so as to indicate an intent by the voter of showing that it is his/her ballot should be discounted as invalid. This does not seem to be covered in this chapter (except perhaps at the end of 54.2.a).
