Fixity of tenure of Electoral Commissions’ members
Members of Electoral Commissions may not be removed from office.
They may only be suspended for criminal offences or electoral contraventions, on a procedure previously initiated by the higher ranking Commission, by an absolute majority’s decision of said Commission, and without prejudice to any applicable judicial proceedings.
The Central Electoral Commission shall have jurisdiction under the same circumstances for suspension of its own members.
