2. Reporting requirements
The Guidelines note that transparency in party and campaign finance is important to protect the rights of voters and to prevent corruption. Transparency is also important because the public has the right to be informed.[1] Voters must have relevant information as to the financial support given to political parties in order to hold parties accountable.[2] At the same time, regulations should not place an undue burden on parties, candidates and oversight bodies
