Article 126
 

126.1. The Institute will provide, through the competent executive directorate and its committees in the local and district executive boards, the services inherent to the Federal Register of Voters.


126.2. The Federal Register of Voters is permanent and of public interest. Its purpose is to fulfill the established in constitutional article 41 regarding the Registry of Voters.


126.3. The documents, data and information that the citizens provide to the Federal Register of Voters, in compliance with the obligations imposed on them by the Constitution and this Law, will be strictly conf dential and cannot be communicated or made known, except in the event of trials, resources or procedures that the Institute is part of in order to fulfill the obligations established by this Law on electoral matters and by the General Law on Population regarding the National Register of Citizens or at the order of a competent judge.


126.4. The members of the General, local and district Councils, as well as of the monitoring commissions, will have access to the information in the Registry of Voters exclusively for the fulf llment of their functions and they cannot give it or use it for a purpose or objective different from the review of the Registry of Voters and the nominal lists.
