(1) During the period commencing upon the registration of the candidate lists and ending upon the declaration of the election results, the candidates shall qualify as domestic public officials within the meaning given by the Criminal Code.
(2) Where the registration of a candidate is stricken, the rights and duties referred to in Paragraph (1) shall be terminated as from the day of the striking.
