§ 17.
 

Competence of county head of elections


(1) The function of a county head of elections is to hold the elections in the county, to instruct the voting district committees, to exercise supervision over their activities and to perform other functions arising from this Act. (2) For the performance of his or her functions, a county head of elections: 1) shall issue oral and written orders to the voting district committees, which are mandatory for performance; 2) shall decide on the costs of a voting district committee based on the amount of the funds allocated by the State Electoral Office; 3) shall decide on the remuneration of a member of a voting district committee on the proposal of the chairman of a voting district committee; 4) shall enter into contracts with the persons assisting the head of elections; 5) may release a member of a voting district committee who has violated the law or an order of the county head of elections from the duties of a voting district committee. (3) The county head of elections shall sign a written order of the county head of elections. A written order shall enter into force upon signature thereof.
