Article 29.5 provides that the OAS shall carry out an audit of campaign finance reports, draw up a statement of information on audit results and submit it to the CEC for consideration within two days after receiving declarations on the use of campaign funds. This deadline is unreasonably short to carry out a meaningful audit. It is recommended that the timeframe for campaign finance audits be extended.
