Specialised constitutional courts often have rules of composition, which differ from those of ordinary courts. Typically, judges of constitutional courts are elected by a qualified majority in parliament or the executive, the legislative and judicial powers each appoint one-third of the composition of such courts. In such systems, a balance in the composition of the court is sought.
