The French parliamentary law, for example, gives a period of 15 days for the MP to decide which function he/she will maintain. If he/she fails to do so within a foreseen timeframe, his/her MP mandate stops by default. So, in this case, the law assumes that the MP took the new function for which he/she was elected, appointed or nominated.
