It is also possible that the right to vote, while granted for a long period to expatriates, is no longer granted when this period has expired. In the United Kingdom, citizens living abroad or temporarily out of the country must have lived in the United Kingdom (at a specific moment) during the past 15 years and be entered in the electoral roll at the place of origin.
