Judicial review in the field of referendum applies first a priori and addresses the decision to submit a matter to referendum. It may also take place during the procedure, and address procedure itself or the voting rights and, after the vote, the validity of results. Finally, a posteriori control of the text adopted by referendum is conceivable.
