Invalid ballot papers 


1 Ballot papers are invalid if they:



  1. are not official;

  2. have been completed other than by hand;

  3. do not permit the intention of the voter to be clearly recognised;

  4. contain defamatory remarks or obviously irrelevant markings;

  5. ...


2 Grounds for invalidity or nullity that relate to cantonal procedures (official voting envelope, validation stamp, etc.) are reserved.


3 In the case of electronic voting pilot schemes, the legislation of each canton conducting such a scheme shall determine the requirements according to which votes are validly cast and the grounds for invalidity.
