Adopting, publishing and entry into force of the decision subject to a Republican Referendum


(1) A republican referendum decision shall be considered adopted if it gained the majority of voters who participated in the referendum. If a constitutional law is subject to referendum, which contains amendments of provisions on the sovereign, independent and unitary character of the state, or deals with provisions related to the continuous neu­trality of the state, it shall be considered adopted if it received at least half of the votes of the persons included in voters’ lists. The decision regarding the dismissal of President of the Republic of Moldova shall be considered as adopted through the Republican Referen­dum if the number of voters was equal or higher than the number of voters by which the President of the Republic of Moldova was elected, but not less than half of the number of voters who have participated in the referendum.


(2) The decision adopted through referendum shall be published in a special edition of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova. The date of adoption is considered to be the day when the referendum was held. The referendum decision shall enter into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette or on the date specified in it.
