In line with the previous Joint Opinion, Article 106.9 was amended in March 2008 to provide that in case of the withdrawal of a Member of Parliament elected for a majoritarian district, by-elections will be held.[17] However, the opinion also recommended that Article 106, par. 7 be similarly amended to provide for a by-election but no such amendment has been enacted. It is again recommended that Article 106, par. 7, be amended accordingly.
