Article 2(25) of the Electoral Code provides that the “Electoral zone is the administrative territorial division of the region for the elections for the Assembly and the municipality or the commune in the case of local government elections.” There are currently twelve administrative regions in Albania. Thus, there will be an election in each region (electoral zone), based on proportional representation, for National Assembly elections.
