Paragraph 71

The Law on Presidential Elections does not address the procedures to be followed if only one candidate is successfully nominated as a candidate or if only one candidate remains after other candidates withdraw. The OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission recommend that the law be amended to state what process is to be followed if only one person successfully obtains the necessary signatures and satisfies all other requirements for candidacy, or where only one candidate remains after other candidates withdraw.
