Article 119 has been amended to specify that the term in office of Mayors of towns (municipalities), villages (communes) and councillors in district, town (municipal) and village (commune) councils starts from the moment of validation of election results. This is a positive change that takes into consideration the possibility of lengthy post-election appeals.
