Furthermore, under Part 2 of the Electoral Administration Act of 2006, the legislator has given the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) new and more proactive powers in seeking to take steps to register eligible electors, and to ensure registers are as complete and accurate as possible. Nevertheless, these powers have not been used.
