67. A Chief Electoral Officer whose work is supported by the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland (EONI)[36] administers the electoral system in Northern Ireland. The Chief Electoral Officer is both the registration officer and the returning officer for each constituency (Sections 8(4) and 26(1) of the Representation of the People Act 1983).
