Article 11
 

Union citizens who are not Swedish citizens and who wish to candidate for an election to the European Parliament shall by a personally signed assurance to the Central Election Authority


1. state their nationality and address in Sweden,


2. state the constituency or the area in their home state where they were last listed in the electoral roll, and


3. declare that they are not a candidate for an election to the European Parliament in any other State.


The Union citizen shall together with such an assurance submit a certificate from the relevant authority in her or his home state confirming that he or she has not become ineligible to be elected there or that there are no grounds for disqualification as far as the authority is aware. A notification that a Union citizen has declared that he or she wishes to run at an election to the European Parliament shall be sent to that election authority in the State where the person is a citizen.
