Paragraph 107

III. DISCUSSION OF THE DRAFT NATIONAL ELECTIONS LAW AND THE DRAFT ELECTION COMMISSIONS LAW

T. Determination of election results

Although the draft provides that votes should be counted and summarized immediately after the end of voting, consideration should be given to set a clear deadline when the voting results should be delivered. This would prevent delays in the process, especially given the timeframe for seeking legal redress. Similarly, the draft imposes a deadline for summarizing final results of presidential elections, however there is no such deadline for parliamentary elections. The Venice Commission and OSCE/ODIHR recommend that such deadline is imposed to avoid delays in the process.
