The election of the president by parliament or a broader representation or an electoral college is in line with the option for a parliamentary system. However, taking the decision to change the electoral system should receive careful consideration as the people, used to directly electing the President up to now, may feel deprived of a right. If such a change was undertaken, the electorate and civil society should be properly informed of the reasons. Finally, setting up an electoral college for the Presidential election could be an appropriate solution, depending on the specific arrangements which will be chosen.
