Withdrawal of provincial lists of candidates and regional party lists

(1) Each campaigning party can withdraw its provincial list of candidates by submitting a written statement. This statement must be received by the provincial elections authorities by 5 p.m. on the fifty-fifth day before the election day at the latest. It has to be signed by the three members of the National Council or half of the persons entitled to vote who supported the list of candidates at the time of its submission.

(2) A provincial list of candidates is also considered as being withdrawn when all candidates on the party list have submitted a written declaration to the provincial elections authorities with the wish to renounce their right to take part in the election by the fifty-fifth day before the election day.

(3) When all candidates on a regional party list renounce in the same way their right to take part in the election it is only the regional party list concerned which is considered withdrawn.
