Exercising the right to vote by incapacitated voters

In order to facilitate the voting by voters kept in prisons, penitentiaries or who are in offender’s institutions, the municipal elections authorities and in Vienna the Vienna City Administration can set up one or more special wards on the premises of these institutions. In this context, the provisions governing the exercise of voting rights by patients in hospitals and nursing homes (§ 72) are to be observed accordingly.
