§ 30.
 

Nomination of candidates


(1) The nomination of candidates shall begin on the working day following the distribution of mandates. A political party may present its candidates after the submission of the notice specified in subsection 26 (4) of this Act.


(2) The nomination of candidates shall end on the forty-fifth day before election day at 6 p.m.


(3) In order to register candidates, a political party shall submit the following to the State Electoral Office: [RT I, 06.05.2016, 1 - entry into force 01.01.2017] Riigikogu Election Act Page 13 / 32 1) an application for the registration of candidates; 2) the lists of candidates in electoral districts; 3) the national list of candidates; 4) a copy of the payment order certifying the payment of security; 5) an application to stand as a candidate of each candidate. (4) An independent candidate shall submit the following to the State Electoral Office: [RT I, 06.05.2016, 1 - entry into force 01.01.2017] 1) an application for the registration of the candidate; 2) a copy of the payment order certifying the payment of security; 3) an application to stand as a candidate. (5) Before nominating candidates, a political party or an independent candidate shall deposit an amount, the size of which is equal to the minimum monthly wage as established by the Government of the Republic in the year when the elections are declared, for each person nominated, in the current account of the Ministry of Finance as the security.
