Article 6
 

(1) Members of the Folketing are elected for four years. The existing seats in the Folketing shall, how ever, be vacated upon a new election, cf. section 32 of the Act of the Constitution.


(2) General elections are called by royal public notice, to be held on the same day throughout the realm. The High Commissioners in the Faroe Islands and in Greenland can be entrusted to fix another day for holding the election.
