Article 95
 

(1) The Speaker of the Folketing shall notify the Prime Minister and the Minister for Social Welfare about a referendum to be held on a parliamentary bill or a bill having received the Royal Assent.


(2) The Prime Minister shall promulgate the bill or the act in the Official Gazette stating the day of the referendum. A referendum according to sections 20(2) and 42 of the Act of the Constitution shall be held no sooner than 12 and not later than 18 week days after its an nouncement. A referendum according to section 88 of the Act of the Constitution shall be held within six months after the Folketing’s final passage of the Bill.


(3) A referendum takes place in the same polling districts as do general elections.
