A person who makes any agreement or enters into any undertaking in relation to the withdrawal of a petition in consideration of any payment or the cesser of membership of the Dáil or for any substantial reason not stated in the affidavit referred to in Rule 8 of the Third Schedule shall be guilty of an offence.
