Article 61
 

(1) Every political party shall have the right to nominate as its agents such number of persons as is equal to the number of ballot boxes and such persons are in this Act referred to as party agents. A political party may designate as a party agent, a person already nominated by it as Assistant Commissioner in which case such person may act both as Assistant Commissioner and party agent.


(2) The party agents so nominated shall have the right to be present in the polling booths prior to the start and at the close of the poll for the purposes provided for in this Act.


(3) Political parties exercising the right granted to them by subarticle (1) shall forward a list to the Commission containing the names and identity card numbers of the persons nominated by them as its agents not later than the day appointed for the nomination of Assistant Commissioners in terms of article 57.


(4) Any political party which has exercised its right to nominate agents, may up to the Thursday before the poll, substitute not more than ten per centum thereof and the procedures for nomination, objection and decision regarding Assistant Commissioners nominated by political parties shall mutatis mutandis apply to substitute agents.
