Article 23
 

(1) Polling stations for the voters domiciled or residing abroad shall be set up with the diplomatic missions and consular offices, consular sections, if they operate in different locations and with the cultural institutes abroad.

(2) Besides the polling stations referred to in paragraph (1), polling stations can also be set up in other locations than at the premises of the diplomatic missions or consular offices, with the assent of the authorities in the respective country.


(3) Besides the polling stations referred to in paragraph (1), one or several polling stations shall be set up for the localities or groups of localities where, according to the Electoral Register, at least 100 voters are domiciled or residing, but the number of voters to be assigned to a station cannot exceed 2,000. If, in the locality where the diplomatic mission, consular office, consular section or cultural institute is located, less than 300 voters appear to be recorded in the Electoral Register with their domicile or residential address, they shall be assigned to the polling station set up according to paragraph (1).


(4) Within 30 days, at the most, from the notification of the date of the elections to the public, the Permanent Electoral Authority shall notify to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the localities abroad where polling stations must be set up, as well as their number. (5) The preparation and organisation of the voting process abroad shall be ensured by the electoral bureau of the constituency for the Romanian citizens domiciled or residing abroad, with the logistic support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (6) Within 30 days from the notification in paragraph (4), the Permanent Electoral Authority shall establish, through decree, the premises of the polling stations, based on the assent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
