In reply to the question whether, as an alternative to the ad hoc lifting of immunity, it would not have been possible to simplify the complicated procedure under the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, the delegation was informed by the majority party that that would not be possible because the Constitution determined this procedure and the Rules of Procedure could not contradict the Constitution. The opposition parties CHP and HDP did not share this opinion and affirmed that the National Assembly would have been able to deal with such a number of cases.
