An imperative mandate is prohibited by Article 68(2) of the Moldovan Constitution. The Constitutional Court has also made clear that parliamentary mandates are irrevocable and are exercised in the interest of the whole nation. Furthermore, a recall procedure is not in conformity with international standards and has been a matter of concern to the OSCE/ODIHR and the Council of Europe. It is therefore welcomed that no such provisions are included in the draft, indicating that this initiative will not be pursued further.
