The House of Representatives of the Federation consists of 98 members, elected by eligible voters in direct, Federation-wide elections. As a result of the decision of the High Representative in 2002, the overall number of delegates in the House of Peoples of the Federation was reduced from 60 to 58 delegates, elected by the cantonal assemblies from among their representatives in proportion to the ethnic structure of the population and the number of delegates in each canton shall be proportional to the population of that canton.
