(1) This Act regulates local elections. Local elections, within the meaning of this Act, are elections for members of the representative bodies of units of local and regional self-government, and elections for municipality heads, mayors, and county prefects and their deputies.
(2) The words and terminology in this Act denoting gender relate equally to men and women, regardless of which gender is used.
