Both approaches can also be seen in the countries which combine proportional representation in multi-member constituencies and a majoritarian part of the elections in one-member constituencies, like Germany, where one set of seats is redistributed periodically among provinces (Länder), while another set is filled from single-member constituencies whose boundaries are revised as necessary.
