Article 1
 

Article 15 of the Act on the Election of Municipality Heads, Mayors, County Prefects and the Mayor of the City of Zagreb (“Official Gazette”, no. 109/07) is amended to read:

“In local self-government units with up to 10,000 inhabitants the first and last name of candidates for a municipality head and mayor as well as the first and last name of one of their deputies have to be on the list of party and independent nominations, and in local self-government units with over 10,000 inhabitants, counties and the City of Zagreb the first and last name of a candidate for a municipality head, mayor, county prefect and the Mayor of the City of Zagreb together with the first and last name of two of their deputies pursuant to the decision on calling the election have to be on the list of party and independent nominations.

In order for party and independent nominations to be valid the following should be collected:

– 50 signatures of voters for a municipality head and a deputy in a municipality with up to 1,000 inhabitants,

– 100 signatures of voters for a municipality head and a deputy in a municipality with more than 1,000 inhabitants, and less than 10,000,

– 200 signatures of voters for a mayor and a deputy in a town with less than 10,000 inhabitants,

– 500 signatures of voters for a municipality head and two deputies, as well as for a mayor and two deputies in a town with more than 10,000, and less than 35,000 inhabitants,

– 1,000 signatures for a mayor and two deputies in a town with more than 35,000, and less than 100,000 inhabitants,

– 2,000 signatures of voters for a mayor and two deputies in a town with over 100,000 inhabitants, – 2,500 signatures for a county prefect and two deputies,

– 5,000 signatures of voters for the Mayor of the City of Zagreb and two deputies.”
