As far as a mayor’s recall is concerned, beyond local specificities, legislation regulates several basic common aspects of the procedure, which in fact prove to be common to other recall processes as well: the initiative for the recall, the timeframe and/or time limits for the process; a minimum number of signatures as an activating condition; quorum requirements (turnout and approval majority); the possible involvement of the municipal council and judicial control of the procedure.
