The theory of representation is one of the most influential theories in contemporary political thought but the representation itself still raises controversies. It is clear that the issue of who should be represented, which was popular during democracy’s expansion in the 19th and 20th centuries, along with the broadly accepted principle of political equality through the formally guaranteed common right to vote and the principle of "one person, one vote" can be considered as closed.
