In this context, it is also important to note that in case of deficiencies detected during the process of candidate verification by DEBs prior to elections, political parties and independent candidates are given the opportunity to remedy them. This opportunity was not provided in the present case where alleged deficiencies were only declared by the DEBs and the SEC after the elections.
